The Lehigh County Historical Society is one of the largest historical societies in America.  Our 30,000 square foot headquarters museum, the Lehigh Valley Heritage Museum, is a state-of-the-art climate-controlled facility that houses one of the finest historical research libraries in the state of Pennsylvania.  The Heritage Museum includes 6 galleries with more than 13,000 square feet of exhibits.

Welcome to the Lehigh Valley Heritage Museum headquarters of the Lehigh County Historical Society.

The Museum will be closed on Monday, December 23, (normal closed day) & Tuesday, December 24 & Wednesday, December 25, 2024, & December 31. Happy Holidays!

The Lehigh Valley Heritage Museum is open to visitation on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.  The Museum is closed on Sunday and Monday.

The Research Library is open for visitation on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Friday visitation must be scheduled at least 24 hrs. in advance. To schedule an appointment for a Friday visit, please call 610-435-1074 between 9:30 am and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Please schedule at least 24 hrs. in advance. The archives are not open on Fridays.

Admission is Free to members, non-member adults pay $10.00 per visit. Children ages 2-11 $3. Under age 2 Free. We appreciate the opportunity to be of service, and thank you for your interest.

Lehigh Valley Heritage Museum, Research Library, and outlying sites are normally closed major holidays.
